  走過創校的艱辛、成長的喜悅，中正大學終於羽翼豐滿，展翅高飛！
  97年元月30日吳志楊博士接任校長，以強化中正「自由多元」、「積極創新」的校風，落實行政支援教學研究的治校理念，帶領師生同仁攜手努力 •開創新局面。其間推動學生「First Mile」-（第一哩）到「Last Mile」（最後一哩）的專業能力培育計畫、「壯遊計畫』，使中正人具有競爭力（Competitive）：並鼓勵學生成立各類志工杜團，展現中正人對社會的關懷情（Considerate）：在學習及學術研究上著重合作學習、團隊研究、跨領城研究，凝聚中正人的團隊精神（United），穩步選向國際一流大學。
  Based on the solid foundation of the past 18 years, Dr. Jyh-Yang Wu, the fourth president of the University incumbent since February, 2008, continues to lead the University towards academic excellence, globalization and closer interaction with the local community. Dr. Wu is convinced that a university is a fertile ground breeding diversity and freedom, and every constituent should be endowed with abundant opportunities to fully develop in this academic environment. Dr. Wa gives the term CCU(Chung Cheng University)a new interpretation -- Competitive, Considerate, and United, which also serves as his vision of all members of the National Chung Cheng University.

95年

• 成立「人類對位性基因醫學研究中心」、「戰略暨國際事務研究所」、「台灣人文研究中心」。
• 傑出校友「超馬」林義傑先生，榮獲國家四等景星勳章，暨世界四大極地超級馬拉松冠軍。

96年

• 機械系馮展華教授榮獲國家發明創作獎金牌。
• 5月30日羅仁權校長任期屆滿，由副校長柳金章接任代理校長。

97年

• 第五任校長胡志揚博士就任接掌校務
• 與美國UCLA教育學院、美國匹茲堡大學（University of Pittsburgh）教育學院簽訂合作辦理跨國雙聯學制。

98年

• 獲選教育部首屆綠色大學示範學校，
• 成立南台灣第一個「國家安全研究中心」。
• 西班牙世界大學網路排名，本校居世界排名第294名，亞太地區第30名，優異的名次居全國大專校院第9名。
• 頒贈李昌鈺博士、曾志朗博士為本校榮譽博士。
